Reorder level calculator
The reorder level is the stock count at which the next order must go out, so the shelf is still stocked when the supplier's truck arrives. Work it out for one item, or paste your stock list to see what needs ordering today.

How this is worked out
Every figure the tool uses is listed here. Assumptions are fields in the tool, so you can change them to match your business.
- Reorder level = average daily sales × (supplier delivery days + safety days), rounded up.
- Safety stock = daily sales × safety days. Order quantity = daily sales × the days one order should last.
- Days until reorder = (stock on hand − reorder level) ÷ daily sales.
- It assumes steady daily sales. Use the last 90 days of sales ÷ 90, and recheck the figures each season.
Questions
Questions people ask
How many safety days should I keep?
Enough to cover a late delivery or a busy week. Items you cannot afford to run out of get more; slow, costly items get fewer.
Can I check many items at once?
Yes. Choose A list of items and paste one item a line with its daily sales, delivery days and stock on hand. The most urgent items come first.
