Tax and books

Books that are always current

The month's GST, who owes you and what you owe each have their own screen, and each one updates as your team records the day's work.

What this solves

Month end becomes a scramble for the CA

01Today

Sales, purchases and payments are kept in different places, so the CA rebuilds the month before filing, and errors surface as mismatches and notices.

02In MatruOS

Every invoice, bill and payment posts to the books and the GST figures as it is saved. The GSTR-1 file and the month's summary are ready from your own records.

03What changes

Returns are prepared from figures that already agree, so the CA's work is review, with nothing to enter again.

Three views the owner checks

GST summaryOutput tax on the month's sales and input credit on the month's purchases, side by side.
Who owes meCustomers with money due, with the amount for each. Type "who owes me?" in the Ask box for the same list.
Customer balancesEach customer's page shows their invoices, payments and the balance due.
Supplier balancesEach supplier's page shows bills, payments and what you still owe them.

Why these figures are current

Each figure is worked out from the invoices, bills and payments behind it, so there is no separate report to keep updated.

Working with your CA

Your CA still prepares the final accounts and tax returns. What changes is what you hand over: a GSTR-1 file and balances that already agree.

Questions

Questions people ask

Does MatruOS give me a profit and loss statement?

Yes. Profit and loss, balance sheet and cash flow are kept current from your entries. Your CA finalises the year's accounts from them, with a login of their own.

Is the GST summary the same as my GSTR-3B?

It shows output tax and input credit from your records. GSTR-3B also depends on supplier filings, so your CA starts from it. This is general information, not tax advice.

Can my accountant see these figures?

Yes. Invite your accountant to MatruOS with their own login.
